FOURTH WATCHLABS

Product

Canopy

A macOS application for post-production audio. You gather sources, build an immersive scene, preview how those sources sit across a speaker layout, and export a bed you can take into a DAW.

Canopy is not a DAW, not a sample library, and not a generic audio toy. It runs on macOS 13 and later.

Canopy Studio

The authoring app. Library, sources, scene, panner, bake, preview, and export. This is where the mix is planned and rendered.

Canopy Live

The companion for the DAW session. A plugin and a standalone. It connects to Studio, follows the host playhead, and lets you pan while you hear the session. Live is not a second full editor.

Five steps

  1. 01

    Browser

Find sources with UCS-aware tagging and columns.

  2. 02

    Sources

Build a project pool, then organize it into scenes.

  3. 03

    Active Scene

Place sound in a speaker field, not just left and right.

  4. 04

    Preview

Bake the scene and hear the bed before it leaves the room.

  5. 05

    Export

Hand a WAV or AIFF bed to Pro Tools or another DAW.

Affinity and density

The Affinity Engine lights channels up or drops them out from how close the panner is to each speaker, plus bias, height, focus, and density. Density spreads extra independent draws across eligible speakers so the field feels wide, not like one copied mono blob.

Layouts include stereo through common surround beds, and Atmos bed layouts when you need that path.
